Depending on where your drain is and how it has become damaged, several potential symptoms may be noticeable. These include foul odours being emitted from the drain, the drain continuously re-blocking after being unblocked, and noticeable leaks or damp around pipes. If outdoors, the ground may become marshy around where a pipe is, and that could be indicative of drain damage.

Where there is serious damage to drain segments there may be a need to have the pipe excavated, however, most of the time drains do not need to be excavated to repair them. Several techniques can be employed to repair drains using specialist tools instead of excavating them. This means that the drain can be repaired from the inside out using techniques such as trenchless drain repair and drain patch repair.
